Heinzel-Winter by R John Wright, Vermont, USA

£695.00

Winter is one in a series of four seasons, inspired by the illustrations of Austrian artist, Ida Bohatta, whose children's books were popular in the early 1900s. Made of felt himself, Heinzel wears a felt hat, coat, scarf and slippers. Jointed at the neck and shoulders, he holds a paper cone for the bird seed, he is feeding to his sensitively airbrushed, felt and mohair bluetit. This has a jointed neck and, like Heinzel, he is fixed with a brass RJW trademark button. A bowl (for the birdseed) comes with them.  They come with a certificate in a display box decorated with an atmospheric Ida Bohatta illustration. Exquisitely detailed work.
